A paradigm is "...a constellation of concepts, values, perceptions and practices shared by a community which forms a particular vision of reality that is the basis of the way a community organizes itself." – Dr. Thomas Kuhn, professor of philosophy & history of science at M.I.T. These six ways of conceptualizing a paradigm allow us to see how fundamental these processes are, in terms of the way we perceive our world and our society. They were created by the Computer Science and Engineering Department from the University of California at Riverside:
